OUR HISTORY

TRADITION, TRUST AND SUSTAINABILITY.

F.V. de Araujo's history is closely linked to the development of the national forestry sector. Paraná is the state in which the company is located, has a strong forestry vocation, that was easily absorbed by the Vieira de Araujo family. At the beginning of the 20th century, more precisely in 1909, the company's activities were started by its founder, Mr. Francisco Vieira de Araujo, who at the time produced wooden barrels for storing products. Little by little, this activity began to be succeeded by the sale of Araucaria lumber. At this time, harvest and processing was authorized and the Araucária was the driving force to the timber industry in Brazil.

Thirty years later, Adhmar Vieira de Araujo joined the company and took over as director, bringing more dynamism to the business, which for the next few decades focused on harvesting, processing and selling Araucaria wood to different markets.

In the 1980s, F.V. de Araujo was impacted by changes in national timber production, when Araucaria lost its strength to other species, and pine production was gaining relevance in the southern region of the country. These changes led the company to move its headquarters to Curitiba in 1988. It was in this year that the company started planting pine and started producing wood in laminated and sawn products, sold in Brazil and abroad.

During the 2000s, the company expanded its operations in the industrial processing of laminated and sawn timber, acquiring new machinery and equipment. At the same time, it invested in new forest areas, thus increasing its production capacity and diversifying its products, manufacturing pallets and frames.

The company currently has 6,000 hectares of forest, 2,000 of which are pine. Operations take place in three units, located in Curitiba, Irati and Tunas do Paraná, where it produces laminates, plywood and components for the construction industry. Its forestry areas supply its manufacturing activity and the surplus is sold to local producers.
